Sorry to have been gone for awhile. It's summer (and the livin' is easy..........as the old song goes). I'll try get more active from now on. There's a lot going on.
But first, I have been watching a bit more TV than usual (starting with the World Cup as discussed in my last post). I noticed there are a ton of ads on TV for pharmaceuticals. Many of them are for ailments I've never heard of and most of them require a doctor's prescription. The ads tell you ask your doctor about Zylgist or something. Poor docs, as if they don't have enough to do already.
At any rate, I decided to make a list of them. Here's what I came up with in about two and a half hours of prime time TV (mostly the national news) over a two week period:
- Ablify
- Advair
- Caltrate
- Cialis
- Citrical
- Dulcolax
- Gas-X
- Lunesta
- Mucilax
- Nexium
- Novartis
- Omnaris
- Onglyza
- Plavix
- Prevacid
- Prilosec OTC
- Reclast
- Restasis
- Spiriva
- Toviaz
- Zantac
- Zegerid
Kind of scary. Never used to be this way. Is this why drug costs are so high?
